Competitive Erotic Fan Fiction
Competitive Erotic Fan Fiction
Making quarterly appearances at Union Hall since December of 2012, Bryan Cook’s hit show Competitive Erotic Fan Fiction is a live comedy event (and Nerdist podcast) which was just recognized as one of LA’s top comedy shows by the LA Weekly. Each show features comics writing pieces of erotic fan fiction based upon their own whims or audience suggestions.

Competitive Erotic Fan Fiction is held monthly at the Virgil in Los Angeles, CA and has been featured as part of the Outside Lands Festival (SF), Bridgetown Comedy Festival (Portland), Riot LA (Los Angeles), San Francisco Sketch Fest, Just For Laughs (Chicago), Bumbershoot (Seattle) and more.

See why Rolling Stone said, “Its audacity alone is compelling enough, but in its best moments, the gross jokes transcend porn mechanics to become a titillating delight.”
Josh Gondelman
Josh Gondelman
Josh Gondelman is a writer and comedian who incubated in Boston before moving to New York City, where he currently lives and works as a writer for Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. Onstage, Josh charms audiences using his good-natured storytelling and cracks them up with his sharp, pointy wit. He takes topics from surprise parties to his experience teaching preschool and makes them all equally hilarious. This spring, he made his late night standup debut on Conan (TBS), and he can also be seen on the first season of Night Train With Wyatt Cenac (SeeSo). Josh’s newest comedy album Physical Whisper debuted in March at #1 on the iTunes comedy charts (as well as #4 on the Billboard comedy chart) and stayed there for…well…longer than he expected, honestly.
Jo Firestone
Jo Firestone
Jo Firestone is a comedian and producer based in Brooklyn, New York. She has created and host several live shows all around the city that usually fall under the genres of “low brow” and “recurring.” She can be seen at the Upright Citizens Brigade theater hosting The Incredible Game Show Showcase and The Unexpectashow and at Littlefield hosting Punderdome 3000 with her dad, Fred. You can also see Jo doing stand up in basements around the city. Hope you like basements.
Sam Morril
Sam Morril
Sam Morril is one of the fastest rising comics in New York City and is also one of the best joke writers in the scene today. How do you know that's true? Because he is writing this bio, and he wouldn't lie about it to get extra work. He performed as a New Face at the 2013 Just For Laughs Montreal Comedy Festival and was recently featured on AXS TV's Gotham Comedy Live. Sam has also appeared on The Artie Lange Show on DirecTV and MSG's The Bracket. He won March Madness 2010 at Comix, has performed at a Friars Roast and was featured in a 4-page spread in the Daily News as "one of the four funniest in New York". He then won the Laughing Skull Festival in Atlanta, beating out over 600 applicants. Sam was named a 2011 "Comic to Watch" by Comedy Central. His comedy can be heard on Sirius XM radio, and you can see him regularly at all the best clubs in New York City. Come see Sam before his ego gets too big to do small rooms.
Mike Lebovitz
Mike is a member of the popular Chicago-based collective, Comedians You Should Know. He and his good buddy Junior Stopka also co-curate Señorita Weiner's Top Secret Humor Experiment and Ice Cream Social Club, Chicago's longest-running clandestine, nomadic comedy showcase and the original members-only ice cream social. A burgeoning international star, Mike has offended nostrils in Montreal as a "New Face" of the 2013 Just For Laughs, and in Switzerland where he won the international competition at the 2013 The Montreux Comedy Fest. Mike returned to Montreux in 2014 as the "Godfather" of the competition.

I do stand-up comedy in the Washington DC/Baltimore area. When I am sitting at (real) work I cannot do stand-up comedy, so I'll maybe sometimes do this instead.
