According to the Pulitzer website, anyone can nominate anything for a Pulitzer Prize and Pulitzer Surprises takes advantage of that horrible idea. Our favorite comedians perform their submission for a Pulitzer! Then we interview a real-life Pulitzer Prize winner who has actually done something good. At the end of the show the audience will cast their vote on who deserves a Pulitzer, and then we will really submit it for a Pulitzer Prize. That winner walks away a “Pulitzer Prize Entrant."

Eliza Cossio
Eliza Cossio is the Senior Latina Correspondent on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah. She performs improv with the Daily Show writers team at UCB and does stand-up and improv all around New York.
Caroline Schaper
Caroline Schaper
Caroline Schaper is a writer and performer. She has written for Letterman and currently for Full Frontal with Samantha Bee and performs all around the city, but mostly in Brooklyn.
Daniel Spenser
Daniel Spenser
Dan currently works as a designer for Full Frontal with Samantha Bee and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. He is also co-founder of Captain Hippo. He was in a few episodes of Better Call Saul on AMC. He lives and eats in New York City.
Annie Donley
Annie Donley
Annie Donley was born and raised in Houston (hey, Beyonce) and studied improv and sketch in Chicago in places like The Annoyance, and iO Chicago. She currently coaches and performs in NYC with Michael Jordan Steakhouse, The Holy Fuck Comedy Hour, and twice at Carnegie Hall (haters will say it's fake!).
Kashana Cauley
I’m a writer for The Daily Show. The Atlantic, Buzzfeed, Esquire, The New Yorker, Pitchfork and Rolling Stone have published my fiction, nonfiction and humor.
Sarah Ryley
Sarah Ryley is an investigative journalist at The Trace, a non-profit news outlet that covers gun violence in America. From Oct. 2012 through April 2017, she was an editor and investigative journalist at the New York Daily News, where she reported extensively on the New York Police Department. Her investigation into "widespread abuse of eviction rules by the police to oust hundreds of people, most of them poor minorities," done in partnership with ProPublica, won the 2017 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service.
Matt Nelson
Matt is a comedian. Last year he directed a feature-length comedy that will be finished this year.
