Atlas Obscura Live!
Hello New York!

Our live variety show brings our own writers and editors together with musicians, scholars, comedians, performers, and special guests to share wondrous acts and amazing stories, all based around the website's monthly theme.

It's time again for another Atlas Obscura LIVE! Last time we sold out while we explored the wide world of scandal, but this time, we're delving into the world SIN! Join us on Thursday, June 8th, at UnionHall in Brooklyn, where you can learn how to avoid historic sins, answer trivia for prizes, and see Atlas staffers, along with special guests Ted Leo (Ted Leo + The Pharmacists), Joe Pera (Adult Swim, Late Night w/ Seth Meyers), Jo Livingstone (The New Republic), Noah Levine (Tannen's Magic Shop), and more, exploring amazing tales of all the ways you can break the rules and be a true sinner in any era!

Noah’s sleight-of-hand expertise has been on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Carnegie Hall, and Lincoln Center, as well as in several television commercials and films. Noah has helped develop programming for Conjuring Arts Research Center: a non-profit library that preserves historical texts and brings magic-based therapy to hospitals and schools. As a technical advisor, he has been called upon to train actors including: Bryan Cranston, Rachel Weisz, Giovanni Ribisi, Ben Vereen, and James Earl Jones. Josh Gondelman
Josh Gondelman
Josh Gondelman is a writer and comedian who incubated in Boston before moving to New York City, where he currently lives and works as a writer for Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. Onstage, Josh charms audiences using his good-natured storytelling and cracks them up with his sharp, pointy wit. He takes topics from surprise parties to his experience teaching preschool and makes them all equally hilarious. This spring, he made his late night standup debut on Conan (TBS), and he can also be seen on the first season of Night Train With Wyatt Cenac (SeeSo). Josh’s newest comedy album Physical Whisper debuted in March at #1 on the iTunes comedy charts (as well as #4 on the Billboard comedy chart) and stayed there for…well…longer than he expected, honestly.
