Future States
Future States
Future States is a psychedelic pop band who make music that rewards repeat headphone listens as much as it inspires fevered dancing. Their music is built on layers of weaving keys, woozy guitars, and sampled sounds, paired with a propulsive rhythm section. On top of these dense textures sit pristine pop melodies and reverb-soaked harmonies.

Based out of Montreal and Ottawa, Future States consists of Chuck Bronson (Guitar, Vocals), Brodie Conley (Guitar, BV), Daniel Gélinas (Drums, BV), Nicolas Hyatt (Keys, BV) and David Lacalamita (Bass, BV). Their unique sound emanates directly from their collaborative ethos. The band draw from varied musical backgrounds and educations —experimental composition, psych/prog, jazz, indie rock, and folk —working diligently together until each song becomes more than the sum of its individual parts. This process is aided by Gélinas, who acts as the band’s in-house recording engineer. The result is a tapestry of musical influences, put together like a puzzle that yields a satisfying whole.
Berdmajik
Berdmajik
Berdmajik is an electro-soul/pop band from Philadelphia, PA. The music is written by Donnie Felton (also known for his work with Grubby Little Hands) who performs as a solo act and occasionally with the support of Chad Brown on drums.

Berdmajik mesmerizes audiences with soulful incantations cloaked in boom-bap, head-nodding rhythms and rich, electro-pop textures. Berdmajik's sound was born on his middle school courtyard, where Felton would play bass clarinet while a friend played lunchbox drums for whoever would listen. Looping clarinet melodies are still featured prominently in live Berdmajik sets to this day. Our introduction to this new artist comes in the form of his dazzling debut single, Circles, a preview of a full length in the works via Golden Brown.
Out Of Sight Of Land
Out of Sight of Land trundles along like a weary traveler in a boreal forest. Accordion textures grind and shift against each other in slow and odd-time. Flat-sounding but very beautiful double-tracked vocals sing disjointed melodic lines and blend into the hypnotic music with ease. The lyrics slide by. On songs like “Morningtide” a sense of darkness creeps in with an interplay of dissonance, conjuring Wyrd Visions. These songs dually encapsulate great landscapes and private-evening-cups-of-tea. When an unprecedented shift or a peppering of percussion appears, it is a revelation.
