Competitive Erotic Fan Fiction
Competitive Erotic Fan Fiction
Making quarterly appearances at Union Hall since December of 2012, Bryan Cook’s hit show Competitive Erotic Fan Fiction is a live comedy event (and Nerdist podcast) which was just recognized as one of LA’s top comedy shows by the LA Weekly. Each show features comics writing pieces of erotic fan fiction based upon their own whims or audience suggestions.

Competitive Erotic Fan Fiction is held monthly at the Virgil in Los Angeles, CA and has been featured as part of the Outside Lands Festival (SF), Bridgetown Comedy Festival (Portland), Riot LA (Los Angeles), San Francisco Sketch Fest, Just For Laughs (Chicago), Bumbershoot (Seattle) and more.

See why Rolling Stone said, “Its audacity alone is compelling enough, but in its best moments, the gross jokes transcend porn mechanics to become a titillating delight.”
Bryan Cook
Bryan Cook
Bryan Cook originally hails from the barren hellscape of rural Maine, and began his comedy career in Seattle, before relocating to Los Angeles where he writes for Joan Rivers' Fashion Police. Cook is the host and creator of Competitive Erotic Fan Fiction, presented every month at the esteemed Nerdmelt Theater in LA, as well as all over the US. In 2012, he was featured as an opening act on Kyle Kinane's Great Mistakes Tour, and has performed at the Bridgetown Comedy Fest, Riot LA, and Bumbershoot Festival. Cook has also performed at some of the finest alternative rooms in the country, including Holy Fuck (LA), Big Terrific (NYC), and The Grawlix (Denver). He has had the honor of sharing the stage with Nick Kroll, Hannibal Burress, Jen Kirkman, Todd Barry, Baron Vaughn, and has contributed to McSweeney's.
Carmen Lynch
Carmen Lynch
Carmen Lynch is a half-Spaniard who fell into comedy by accident. She wasn't getting any acting roles because all the boys getting cast were shorter than her...and no one wanted to cast a tall female w/ a short male. "What's wrong w/ that" she asks "I see comedy all over that". Unfortunately she had to go for something she could do alone - stand up was the answer. Carmen Lynch also got to the finals of Last Comic Standing Season One, Comedy Central's Premium Blend, Aspen Comedy Festival.
