"Life Is Pain" is a monthly comedy show hosted by Lily Karlin (New Yorker, Huffington Post) and Blythe Roberson (New Yorker, ClickHole). With the help of some of NYC's funniest people, they investigate why being a human in the world is so, like, difficult. The show has been hailed by Slant as "the best comedy show in New York you've never heard of."

TONIGHT IS THE FINAL SHOW OF THIS RUN. Also all profits for tonight will be donated to ACLU.They are going to be very busy.

Dylan Marron is an IFP Gotham Award and Drama Desk-nominated writer, performer and video maker. He is the voice of Carlos on the hit podcast Welcome to Night Vale, an alum of the New York Neo-Futurists, and the creator of Every Single Word (Tumblr’s “Most Viral Blog” of 2015 and Shorty Award Nominee).

As a writer and correspondent at Seriously.tv he created and hosted the viral smashes Sitting in Bathrooms with Trans People, Shutting Down Bullsh*t, and his signature Unboxing series.

In the summer of 2017 Dylan began the podcast Conversations with People Who Hate Me which was named a Critic's Pick by USA Today and The Guardian, praised by The New York Times, and has been downloaded over 1.5 million times.

Jacqueline Novak is a New York-based stand-up comedian and author. She has performed stand up on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon and The Late Late Show with James Corden, and has her own Comedy Central Presents half hour special. Novak's memoir, How to Weep in Public: Feeble Offerings on Depression from One Who Knows, was published in 2016. She has appeared on HBO's Animals, Netflix's The Characters and starred in her own Refinery29 series, How to Weep in Public, directed by John Early. Her stand up album is called Quality Notions.

Eliza Cossio is the Senior Latina Correspondent on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah. She performs improv with the Daily Show writers team at UCB and does stand-up and improv all around New York.

Noah Gebstadt
Noah Gebstadt is a Michigander living, writing, and performing in New York City. Noah is a Tonight Show staffer and has performed at Union Hall, UCB, The Pit, and once did three hours of two-prov with Kevin Bauer at a Park Slope block party (it was rad!). You can find Noah talking about bank robbing surfers and Phantom Thread on his social media (@NoahGeb).

Lily Karlin
Lily Karlin is a comedian, writer and actor in New York City. She creates and stars in sketch videos for The Huffington Post, and co-hosts monthly comedy show "Life is Pain" at Union Hall. Her work has also appeared on NewYorker online and been mentioned by Jezebel, Bust, Bustle. Once she wrote a tweet about panty lines that Buzzfeed said “perfectly summed up being a woman.”
Blythe Roberson
Blythe Roberson
Blythe Roberson is a writer and comedian who lives in Brooklyn. She is a contributor to The New Yorker, The Onion, and ClickHole and a staffer at The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. She is currently writing a book, How To Date Men When You Hate Men, for Flatiron Books. Blythe is a member of the sketch group Lo-Fi NYC and hosts two variety shows at Union Hall: "The Scientists" and "Book Club."
