Ultra Major
Ultra Major
Ultra Major formed on a shady industrial row in Brooklyn's Gowanus neighborhood. Most of 2014 was spent writing and recording their debut album, 'Pretending to Swim'. This past year Ultra Major has been making a name for themselves while playing out and writing new material. Having played down in Austin for SXSW and just recently having played CMJ 2015 and being named as one of the top "Loud Rock Bands to See", Ultra Major has created a small, but growing buzz.

Ultra Major play loud, fuzzed-out, catchy alternative rock and roll. With delicate nods to the likes of Dinosaur Jr., Hum, Sonic Youth, and Superchunk, Ultra Major create a nostalgic yet fresh take on everything great about resounding guitar-driven rock music.
Soft Swells
Soft Swells
"Because it's prettier than Nada Surf, more hopeful than Spoon, and less glitchy than Bastille, yet somehow makes us think of all three. That's a good thing." - Esquire Magazine

"Soft Swells leave you in an electric melange of forget me nots, on the happy hearted note that parted hearts will meet again in life’s great happily ever after." - Impose Magazine

"a buzzworthy band to check out""- Time Magazine

"Album O' The Week" - USA Today

"Soft Swells channel the Technicolor guitar-pop of Summerteeth-era Wilco, balancing high-flying synthesizer parts against guitars straight from the garage" - MTV Buzzworthy

"These kiddies are onto something. Catchy goddamned track that makes you wanna wave your arms back and forth over and over and over and..."-NYPress

"After their album launched earlier this February, Soft Swells has maintained their space on my post review deck - similar to what happened with M83 and Foster The People the year prior."-
Guilty Giraffe
Guilty Giraffe
Guilty Giraffe from Sleepy Hollow, NY are a mix of Punk, Post-hardcore, and Shoegaze. The band has been around for couple years and have played all over the five boroughs. They are increasingly becoming known as the loudest band around. Lead singer/guitarist Mathew McGinnis adds washed out vocals in the vein of A Place To Bury Strangers while drummer Felipe Reis adds a mix of prog and metal drumming to bring out the face-melting power of each track. However, like the Pixies, the band's songs have their quiet moments that explode into loud full bursts of melodic noise.

Their new album Server Error follows up their debut EP A Time To Slime both available from NJ label Mint 400 Records. Like most of the Mint 400 Records bands, Guilty Giraffe are totally DIY-producing, mixing and mastering their records all by themselves. Their newest release shows a depth missing from their earlier EP, truly developing the band’s sound. Some of the best moments of the album evoke heavy hitters like Fugazi, Nirvana, and Deftones. The intensity of this band mixed with the stoner grooves of an almost sped up Black Sabbath will be sure to grab ahold of any music aficionados.
