Aparna n' Jo Present: Live & Order!
Aparna n' Jo Present: Live & Order!
Serial. Making a Murderer. People vs. OJ. There's nothing hotter right now than true crime. And there's nothing the industry*** loves more than cashing in on what's popular. While Jo Firestone and Aparna Nancherla have neither committed nor solved any homicides as of now, they are totally open to it in the future if their schedules allow. In the meantime, they are both loyal devotees of the fake-but-based-on-true crime industry: Dick Wolf's Law & Order: SVU**. So, for one fine evening, allow them, with the help of some special comedy guests, to pay tribute to the episodic criminal procedural with their own reimagining of the form. At the very least, prepare to walk away with more questions than answers, and blood on your hands. Whose blood? That's for you to decide.

***The entertainment industry, not the murder industry, but good guess.
**Nothing but the worst, most heinous crimes for these two voyeur monsters.
Jo Firestone
Jo Firestone
Jo Firestone is a comedian based in Brooklyn, New York. Her work can be seen on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Chris Gethard Show, and heard on WFMU. She was recently named a New Face at the 2016 Just for Laughs Festival. If you like puns, check out Punderdome: A Card Game for Pun Lovers. If you don't like puns, please disregard. You can also see Jo doing stand-up in different basements around the city. Hope you like basements!
Aparna Nancherla
Aparna Nancherla
Aparna Nancherla is by and large a comedian, or by and small rather. She has written for Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell and Late Night with Seth Meyers. You may have caught her standup on Conan and the Comedy Central Half Hour, her face on Master of None and Crashing, and her voice on Bojack Horseman. She was recently named one of Rolling Stone's "50 Funniest People Right Now" and you can see her in 2018 on the upcoming show Corporate on Comedy Central and the new season of Netflix's The Standups.
Jes Tom
Jes Tom is a fresh voice in stand up comedy, gleefully providing the nonbinary queer Asian American radical cyborg perspective that everyone never knew they wanted. Jes has performed in all five boroughs of New York City, as well as at colleges and conferences spanning the frigid American northeast. Jes tells jokes in venues of all sorts, from hipster bar basements to historic performance spaces such as Caroline's on Broadway, Gotham Comedy Club, Bowery Poetry Club, Nuyorican Poets Café, The Town Hall, and The Friar's Club.
Joyelle Nicole
Joyelle Nicole
Joyelle Nicole prides herself on being the nerd she was ashamed of growing up in NJ after being enrolled in both Asthma and Band Camp. Fortunately, these unique experiences inform her set. After braving open mics and bringer shows in LA she moved to NY to hone her craft. Her career kicked into gear when she was chosen as a semifinalist in Vancouver for NBC’s Stand Up for Diversity. Additionally, she was handpicked by her idol, Dave Chappelle, to open the Robinson Center in Little Rock and Tabernacle in Atlanta. She also finished 3rd out of 250 for the She-Devil Festival at the Laughing Devil in NY. Honored to be a reliable opener, Joyelle has had consistent road gigs with Hannibal Buress, Maria Bamford and her largest audience to date with Russell Peters at the Borgata in front of 4,000. NBC chose her as a finalist for the NBC Stand Up competition in Los Angeles.

Presently making the transition into headliner, Joyelle performs all over the country and made her NBC digital debut with Wyatt Cenac’s Night Train in 2016.
