I'm New Here with Jon Ronson and Maeve Higgins
I'm New Here with Jon Ronson and Maeve Higgins
Jon Ronson (writer, showgirl) and Maeve Higgins (comedian, legend) are here to show you around! Each month they assemble comedians interspersed with writers and storytellers and scientists and artists who are fascinating and cool but not necessarily funny, and serve them up in a basement in Brooklyn.
John Hodgman
John Hodgman
JOHN HODGMAN is a writer, comedian, and actor.

He is the author of three books of fake facts and invented trivia, all of them New York Times Bestsellers, and his writing has also appeared in The Paris Review, This American Life, The New Yorker, and Mad Magazine.

After an appearance to promote his books on “The Daily Show,” he was invited to return as a contributor, serving as the show’s “Resident Expert” and “Deranged Millionaire.”

This let to an unexpected and, frankly, implausible career before the camera, becoming the “Personal Computer” in a series of commercials for Apple computer, and more recently playing recurring roles in FX’s MARRIED, HBO’s BORED TO DEATH, Cinemax’s THE KNICK.

He has performed comedy for The President of the United States, at the TED conference, and in a crypt in Green-Wood Cemetery. His apocalyptic comedy special RAGNAROK is available on Netflix, and his subsequent one man comedy shows have played to sold out audiences in many nice theaters around the country and in Canada.

Finally, he is the host of the popular JUDGE JOHN HODGMAN podcast, where he settles serious disputes between real people, such as “Is a hot dog a sandwich?” and “Should we tell our children the TRUTH about Santa Claus.” He also contributes a weekly column under the same name for The New York Times Magazine
Aparna Nancherla
Aparna Nancherla

You may have caught her standup on Conan and the Comedy Central Half Hour, her face on Master of None and Crashing, and her voice on Bojack Horseman. She was recently named one of Rolling Stone's "50 Funniest People Right Now" and you can see her in 2018 on the upcoming show Corporate on Comedy Central and the new season of Netflix's The Standups.
Joe Zimmerman
Joe Zimmerman
Praised for an accessible style pairing absurdism with a wide-eyed, aw-shucks demeanor, 2013 was a big year for New York City-based comedian Joe Zimmerman. In addition to making his Comedy Central debut on John Oliver’s New York Stand Up Show, he made his late night debut on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, and was chosen as one of the acclaimed New Faces at Just For Laughs Montreal. Buzzfeed named him a top comic to watch, saying “…Joe’s calming vocalization and inventive writing is a thing of magic.” and “You’d be hard pressed to find a more enjoyable show.”

In 2014 he recorded a Half Hour Special which aired on Comedy Central July 25th, as well as being a featured performer on Season 8 of Last Comic Standing, where he drew praise from Roseanne & Russell Peters. 2014 also saw the release of his debut solo album, “Smiling at Wolves” which reached #2 on the i-Tunes comedy charts.

Joe is an original member of the Beards of Comedy, who toured from 2008-2012 and recorded two albums. Joe grew up in Morgantown, WV and graduated from Davidson College in 2005.
