Guy Montgomery Presents - I'm Friends With These People!
Guy Montgomery Presents - I'm Friends With These People!
As 2018 draws to a close it is a wonderful time for reflection, and if your name is Guy Montgomery, the one and only thing you'll be reflecting on is the sheer volume of friends you made this year. While 2018 may have been bereft of professional or financial success, it is nice to know at the end of the day that Guy has a whopping six new friends he can turn to in moments of need. So join Guy as he hosts a lineup of comedians who he considers friends and who definitely reciprocate his friendship to at least an equal degree. A stand up comedy show underpinned by friendship? Well now that sounds like a great night out.
Mitra Jouhari
Mitra Jouhari
Mitra Jouhari is a writer/comedian who lives in Brooklyn. Upcoming projects include an Adult Swim pilot called "Three Busy Debras" (which she co-wrote, co-starred, and co-produced with Sandy Honig and Alyssa Stonoha), writing for "High Maintenance" on HBO, and co-starring in the independent feature "F1", directed by Shahrzad Davani. She has written for "Miracle Workers" on TBS, "The President Show" on Comedy Central, and prior to that was a staffer at "Full Frontal w/ Samantha Bee" on TBS. TV/Film Credits include: "The Big Sick", "Broad City", "Friends From College", "Full Frontal", as well as videos for the New Yorker, IFC, Comedy Central, Above Average, Refinery29's RIOT, and more. Her writing has appeared in the LA Review of Books, American Bystander, McSweeney's, Reductress, Flaunt Magazine, Reality Beach, Splitsider, and Rookie. She co-hosts the monthly live show "It's a Guy Thing" at Union Hall. She is from Ohio which is why she is nice.
Dan Licata
Dan Licata
Dan Licata is a NYC-based comedian and one of the co-hosts of Dan + Joe + Charles Show. He is one of the writers of Joe Pera Talks With You on Adult Swim, and previously co-wrote Joe Pera Helps You Find the Perfect Christmas Tree. He’s made appearances on Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Chris Gethard Show, and has made several videos for JASH. He is currently working to achieve his high school diploma.
Rachel Kaly
Rachel (she/they) is a queer NYC-based comedian, and writer. She is a contributing writer for ClickHole and has studied at the Annoyance Theater, Second City, and at UCB as a diversity scholar. She's performed at all those venues, plus Joe's Pub, iO, and Union Hall and whatever da fuk else will convince you she's legit. She has three regular monthly shows that have been written up by the New York Times, Time Out NY, and GOLD comedy: Ladies Who Ranch, The Ellen Show But Violent, and Imporv. She graduated from Wesleyan University in 2017, and founded the Absurd Comedy Collective in 2016 in an effort to make more inclusive spaces for marginalized comics.
Steven Markow
Steven Markow
Steven Markow is a comedian, writer, and videomaker in Brooklyn, NY. His written work has appeared on The New Yorker, McSweeney's, Slackjaw, Thought Catalog, and The Tusk. He was the founder and host of New American Comedy, a comedy collective and monthly variety show that was listed in Paste Magazine's "Top 10 Alt Comedy Shows in NYC", and read at The Strand bookstore in NYC. His videos have been screened in gallery exhibitions curated by BHQFU and Nothing Space (Bushwick), as well as Union Hall's It's a Guy Thing and New American Comedy, Sunnyvale's Just a Show, and a showcase at The PIT.
Eudora Peterson
Eudora Peterson
Eudora is a comedian from New Jersey, but she performs in New York because the rules there are much more lax. For example: in New York, you can be a prop comic and people will still respect you, even if you don't have credits. That said, she's been featured on Splitsider, Jezebel, The Huffington Post, and she's *never* used a prop during a performance. Never.
Lorelei Ramirez
Lorelei Ramirez
Lorelei Ramirez is an artist, comedian, and writer residing in New York where she is attempting to do everything she can before I dies because dying is scary and who will see through these eyes when she's done? An ill tempered demon? She hosts a Monthly show at C'mon Everybody in Bedstuy called Not Dead Yet and another monthly show at Vital Joint called Sloop Jumbly. Follow her on @pileoftears for laughs and @pileoftears_art for some artwork.
