Jason Reischel: 15th Anniversary NYC Show
Former frontman of My Cousin, The Emperor, and Brooklyn native, Jason Reischel returns to the stage at Union Hall for his 15th Anniversary NYC Show, and his first solo show since a tragic "severed tendon" accident in 2017. "It was a freak accident where I sliced the top of my hand because of a broken glass in a garbage bag (Public Service Announcement: Always wrap broken glass in a paper bag before properly disposing it.) I looked down and my left ring finger was just hanging there... not the sight you want to see if you're a guitar player."

It took surgery and four months of rehab before Jason could pick up the guitar again. "I took the opportunity to relearn the guitar, and approached it like I did when I first started playing over 30 years ago (gasp!). I was able to correct some bad habits accumulated over decades of playing and hopefully I'm better for it."

Jason released a new solo album, "The Terrible Truth," in November 2018. It is available wherever music is available.

"Reischel explores an alt-country sound that tips its hat to the indie rock scene while still maintaining a simple twang" - WNYC Music Hub

"Filled to the brim with both alone-in-the-pouring-rain ballads and throw-me-another-whiskey barroom romps" - My Old Kentucky Blog

"Songwriter Jason Reischel writes underground country flavored pop that is refreshing and genuine... well written tunes, executed to perfection" - Baby Sue
