Her-icane: All Female-Identifying Stand Up Comedy for Disaster Relief
Her-icane: All Female-Identifying Stand Up Comedy for Disaster Relief
Her-icane is a monthly showcase of all female identifying comics to benefit disaster relief...because women are funny, and the planet is in crisis. Running since November 2017, the series has raised thousands of dollars for relief efforts for the hurricanes in Puerto Rico and the Carolinas and the California Wildfires. The show is hosted by Kate Villa (The Break With Michelle Wolf) and Jenny Gorelick (Jenny’s Birthday Show at Union Hall) and has been featured in the New York Times, Bedford & Bowery, and the skint. All proceeds will benefit the California Community Foundation Wildfire Relief Fund.

She was once called an "unassuming gal" by MTV, but we all know that was mistaken. In addition, she produces an all-female stand up comedy show to benefit relief for natural disasters called Her-icane that has raised thousands of dollars and was featured in the NYTimes. Taxi TV's Sandy Kenyon believes she is a "star of tomorrow," and now she can die happy.
Carmen Lynch
Carmen Lynch
Carmen Lynch is a half-Spaniard who fell into comedy by accident. She wasn't getting any acting roles because all the boys getting cast were shorter than her...and no one wanted to cast a tall female w/ a short male. "What's wrong w/ that" she asks "I see comedy all over that". Unfortunately she had to go for something she could do alone - stand up was the answer. Carmen Lynch also got to the finals of Last Comic Standing Season One, Comedy Central's Premium Blend, Aspen Comedy Festival.
