Rotten Apple Roots & Bluegrass Halloween
The 2nd Annual Rotten Apple Roots and Bluegrass Halloween will be a non-stop show of the best Roots and Bluegrass the burgeoning Brooklyn folk revival scene has to offer. Murder ballads, banjos and candy. Trick or Treat, y'all!
Barefoot & Bankside - (Set time: 10:00 PM)
Barefoot & Bankside
Barefoot & Bankside is a music project built around the songwriting & vocal stylings of Jamey "Brother" Hamm & Amanda Neill. The name is a way to honor that special time and place of growing up in the south and wasting away those muggy summer days on the river banks and running wild through the creeks. No shirts or shoes required (insert "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" Baptism scene here). Born & raised true southerners from Alabama & Tennessee, these two genuinely blend the familiar sounds of classic country music, gospel and even a little alternative/southern rock.
Dancegrass - (Set time: 11:00 PM)
Dancegrass is the next step in musical evolution, one step ahead of the collective unconscious, seamlessly blending the old and the new, while paying respect to the Great American Songbook. Dancegrass provides music to quench the human desire to party and dance hard to mind-numbing, trance inducing repetitive beats, while keeping the tradition of roots and folk music alive. Sent from a Dystopic future where all music is nothing but 808 4 to the floor and Coldplay cover bands, the Dancegrass mission is to change the course of history.
Melody Allegra Band - (Set time: 9:00 PM)
Melody Allegra Band
Award winning fiddler Melody Allegra Berger has been playing violin since the age of five and is classically trained in both violin and voice. She fell in love with bluegrass/old time music around 8 years ago and has been raising a ruckus in the NYC area ever since, branching out into all manner of folk genres. You can hear Melody's fiddling on Season 2 Episode 5 of House of Cards, in a scene where she also coached an actor to look like he was playing.

In addition to regularly playing at regional favorites, Melody has gotten to rock out at places like the top of Rockefeller Center, the Lincoln Center Atrium, Joe's Pub, The Bell House and the renowned Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in San Francisco.

Expect smokin' fiddlin' and gritty soulful vocals.
Seth Kessel and The Two Cent Band - (Set time: 8:00 PM)
Seth Kessel and The Two Cent Band
Seth Kessel and the Two Cent Band is a musical project that focuses on new compositions and a shared love of early jazz and American roots music. Seth Kessel was a founding member of Izzy and the Catastrophics (ex-Izzy and the Kesstronics) and a multidimensional interpreter of Americana from rockabilly, jazz to old-time ballads. He has spent years on the road performing internationally and has shared the stage with the likes of Rancid, Snoop Dogg, Sublime and Rev. Horton heat to name a few. Saxophonist Gabriel Yonkler, with over 10 years of study and a graduate of DePauw University, has a solid foundation in be-bop which allowed him to excel in many diverse musical applications. Bassist Jason Bertone has years of experience performing in NYC playing in string bands from bluegrass to gypsy jazz, while having youthful roots in punk and reggae music.
