PICTURE THIS!
PICTURE THIS!
PICTURE THIS! is a new show from Brandie Posey & Sam Varela: two girls who want to push the boundaries of what a comedy show can be. Picture This! is a live comedy show with stand-ups performing while they are drawn live by some of the best animators, cartoonists, and other artists in Hollywood, CA, SF, NYC and Portland. Picture This! has also debuted in Toronto, New Zealand and Australia! The comedians don’t know what the animators are drawing and the animators don’t know how the comedians will react.

It may be weird.

It may different.

But it will be FUN!

All of those shows were quickly cancelled. He has appeared in the movies such as SXSW Grand Jury Prize winner Fort Tilden, Ivan Reitman's Draft Day, and Kelly Reichardt's Night Moves.

Mehran Khaghani
Mehran Khaghani
Born an anchor baby in London, Mehran single-handedly rescued his Iranian family from the Ayatollah Khomeini. Ever gracious, teenage Mehran evened the score in the United States by dropping out of college and taking up homosexuality.

Honing his sharp sense of the absurd while working at Harvard University, Mehran's early experience navigating regime change came in handy when he personally escorted deposed president Larry Summers off the property. He would later go on to produce several successful shows with the University-affiliated Oberon Theater.

A quick riser in the Boston comedy scene, Mehran was named Best Comedian in Boston by the Boston Phoenix, and was a two time finalist in the International Boston Comedy Festival. At Emerson College's Semel Theater, Mehran recorded a half hour of comedy for Die Laughing, produced by Friends co-creator, Kevin Bright.

Mehran has opened for such acts as Maz Jobrani, Tom Green and Eugene Mirman. He works regularly with some of the hottest up-and-comers in comedy and has been in the Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival for the last four years. He has played to crowds of thousands at leading venues, like the Wilbur Theater, the Berklee Performance Center, and the Lisner Auditorium and has toured extensively at colleges and universities. A leading MC in the emerging neo-burlesque scene, Mehran plays to an audience of 30,000 each December at the historic Somerville Theater.

He recently moved to Manhattan, where he lives with his husband and his tiny idiot dog.
Kevin Avery
Kevin Avery
KEVIN AVERY is a stand up comedian and a writer on HBO’s Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. He has also had the distinction of being the head writer on the critically acclaimed and criminally short FX original series, Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell. His other television writing credits include VH1′s Best Week Ever. Originally from San Francisco, CA, Kevin’s high-energy brand of stand up has been called “as rare and magical as a sparkle-unicorn doing West Side Story choreography under a liquid light show,” by the SF Weekly.

Kevin has been praised by the Oakland Tribune for his “sharp-witted” style and “impressive physical comedy.” Of his animated style of stand up and storytelling, the San Francisco Chronicle raves, “Avery is Amazing!” His debut comedy CD, Hardcore, recorded live at the Punchline in San Francisco, is available on iTunes and at RoofTopComedy.com

Kevin is the writer, star and executive producer of the award-winning short film Thugs, The Musical, about a frustrated, sightly delusional, and extremely non-urban black actor who writes, directs & stars in a disastrous musical to prove to Hollywood and the world that he can “act black.” The Dallas Weekly calls it an “uproariously funny mockumentary,” and the Texas Black Film Festival director declared it to be “hands down, THE funniest and wittiest film at the TBFF 2012 Fest! Welcome to a new generation of black social parody.” Thugs, The Musical is the winner of the Audience Award for Best Film at 2012 LA Comedy Shorts Film Festival and the 2012 MIX International Film Festival, Best Short Film at the 2012 Montgomery Film Festival, Best Comedy Film at the 2012 San Francisco Black Film Festival, and the winner of both Best Short and Best in Show at the 2012 Tupelo Film Festival.

Kevin also wrote, produced and stars in the popular web videos Black Guys on a Beautiful Day and Not in a Gay Way. He is the creator of the web series, Kevin Avery’s Obsessed, the pilot of which was featured on MSN’s The Bubble. (Episode 1) (Episode 2)
